I’ve decided to take the Italki October 2015 Language Challenge and to help me to stay motivated during the course of the next two weeks I’ve made a public video pledge.
Here’s me talking about why I’ve decided to take the Italki Language challenge in English con un poco de español tambien (with a little Spanish too).
What is the Italki Language Challenge?
Italki is an online language learning platform where you can schedule one-to-one skype-based lessons with online teachers and/or other language learners.
From time to time, Italki run a language challenge the aim of which is to inspire you to keep focused and motivated with your language learning.
This particular challenge is just a short, two week challenge aimed at giving your language a quick boost!
The rules of the challenge are simple:
1. I pledge to take 6 hours of lessons during 18 -31 October. This equates to about three, one-hour lessons per week (which Italki consider to be the minimum for learning a language).
2. At the end of the challenge, if I complete my lessons, I will receive money from Italki in the form of credits which I can use on Italki to book more lessons.
Why should I take the Italki Language Challenge?
Firstly, because I’ve been learning Spanish for nearly 3 years but I still find it quite difficult to hold a conversation on a variety of topics, so I’d like to increase my range of expressions during this challenge. Secondly, because I successfully completed the Italki challenge last year and it really gave my level of Spanish, and confidence in speaking, a boost.
My goal for this challenge is to increase my range of expressions so that I can speak more easily on a range of topics.
That’s it. My lessons are booked and I begin the challenge on the 18th of October. I’ll record another video at the end of the challenge to let you know how I got on.
Let me know what you think.
¡Buenas suerte chicos!
